Death of the Blue Whale

This post is from a series of photos that I took this past summer. The images are from the demolition of a large US Steel warehouse in St. Louis. The area is being renovated and a new Ikea store just opened up. There is an irony to the fact that the new Ikea is blue and the old US steel warehouse was also blue. The structure was massive and very impressive not only in scale but detailing as well. The frame were very robust and yet they lay twisted on the ground as the demolition progressed. The "blue whale" is now gone awaiting some new Cortex facility.

Lacrosse Again - This Time it is fall practice with the CUW Concordia University Lacrosse Team

So I promise that I will again be posting photos that are intended to be art. I in fact have been driving and photographing in Wisconsin farm country so look for new "Rural" Images coming soon. But as a dad of a newly minted college kid. A kid who's dream had been to play Lacrosse in college, who dealt with a high school coach who seemed to not want to play him much, who stuck with it, who dealt with pain from a hernia then with surgery and then pain from nerve damage from that surgery. Who worked all summer lifting almost every day this past summer. So I had to post some photos from this weekend watching him practicing with his college team and getting a good amount of time on the field. He has stepped up and is living his dream. Because I am a dad!!! Go Ian!!!

Last 2015 Game Highlight Photos Posted!

Tonight I have posted the highlight photos from the Clayton Greyhounds Lacrosse Vs. Priory Rebels State of Missouri semi final playoff game played at Lindenwood University. It was a hard fought 7-9 Loss. Not the way we had hoped the season would end but that is the way it is in sports. Our hats off to the Priory Rebels who played with passion to bring home a victory. Still the Hounds had a very respectable season.

Fourth Quarter Goals keep the game very respectable!

Highlight Photos from Lafayette High Varsity Water Polo Vs. Parkway

Lafayette Lancers Vs. Parkway West Game photos!

This was my first time photographing water polo. Like lacrosse it is fast paced and brutal. In terms of endurance of the players possibly more brutal. Since things are in close quarters and low light it is hard to get good images with faces not blocked by water. As with any sport getting good images depends on being in the right position with the right gear and to some extent knowing what is going to happen before it actually does.
