Artists Statement

Music is liquid architecture; Architecture is frozen music – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

If we are speaking in clichés, then the above might be true at least superficially. It could also be said that photography is about capturing time. Grabbing an elusive moment as it passes buy us. Holding it for a second, if we can, shaping it, placing it in our memory, and if we are lucky transferring that memory along with the emotion attached to it to someone else who finds a connection. If we are lucky! I dabble in the medium of still photographic images. A search for meaning and humanity in the complex, ever evolving, and transient world around us.

From time to time, I may muck around with different tools, and processes but in the end it is the images that matter not the camera, the film or the lens. If I talk about technique or process it is done in the same way a musician practices scales or certain fingerings. An attempt to improve technique to make the creating of art second nature. They do so, as do I, in an attempt, to allow more of their minds to focus, in the moment, on the making of the art.
